Road cycling in the French Alps
Based in the Savoie, TAGRide aims to provide you with the best riding experience in the French Alps; and a healthy dose of fun along the way.
Our supported and catered trips are perfect for the keen cyclist who wants to reach out and experience the greatest riding this wonderful area has to offer!
Our dedicated support vehicle is always on hand to extend our range in the Savoie and beyond.
Ride the Alps your way
We (primarily) offer full week holidays for privately booked groups. This allows us to tailor the week's itinerary, specifically for your group.
(It may be possible by special arrangement to cater for a shorter or longer break.)
We take the time to find out about your riding experience and preferences. Then, using our extensive local knowledge and our support vehicle, we can create YOUR dream week of Alpine riding, taken at your pace.
Epic scenery, iconic cols, hidden gems - experience the alps like a local.
Making it easy
Riding in the Alps is the trip of a lifetime. But that doesn’t mean it should be difficult.
- Return Geneva Airport transfers (based on set arrival/departure times)
- 7 nights chalet accommodation
- Breakfast, afternoon tea & evening meal (6 nights)
- Expert local knowledge and planning
- Support rider and vehicle on every ride day
All included. That doesn't leave you much to worry about.
Bringing you to the best of the Alps
News flash, the Alps are big - and not just vertically.
Nature is amazing, but millions of years ago, when the African and Eurasian tectonic plates collided beneath the sea and the process of the formation of the Alps began, it did not have the humble cyclist in mind!
She created many, now infamous cols to cycle over. But she did spread them about a bit! That's where we come in. With our support vehicle, we are able to get you to all of these amazing cols and more, from our central base.
- Alpe D'Huez
- Col du Galibier
- Col de Telegraph
- Col du Glandon
- Col du Petit St Bernard
- Lacet de Montevernier
- Col de la Madeleine
- Col de Forclaz
- Col de Saises
- Col de L’iseran
Supported all the way
We don't just get you to the best riding spots. We are with you all the way.
With a dedicated support rider sharing expert knowledge of the route, the landscape and the best places to enjoy a bite to eat. (He also fancies himself as a bit of a David Attenborough and loves pointing out the wildlife!)
Plus, a dedicated support vehicle, transporting all of those ride essentials you don't want to carry. Extra layers, snacks and drinks and even you, for those times when determination alone is not enough! We are also equipped with basic tools and spares to get you going again should you need them.
It's good to be flexible
As we all know, things can change and especially in the mountains! And that's why we pride ourselves on being flexible within your week. We’re able to react and alter plans to changes in the weather, road conditions or even the state of your legs!
Solo riders - we've got you covered
We didn’t want to forget about you solo riders or smaller groups out there who want to cycle (experience) this epic landscape.
That’s why we have carefully selected several weeks riding aimed at different abilities of rider.
Experience the epic alpine riding, a fully supported ride, our great hospitality and the simple joy of being in this wonderful landscape with like-minded cyclists and new friends.
Of course including our Geneva Airport Transfers and a cosy en-suite bedroom to yourself.

A warm welcome
Our small and friendly team will help you settle into your chalet accommodation and your home from home for the week.
On arrival day they will help prep your equipment, and get ready for the week ahead.
Whilst your hosts prepare you a delicious two-course dinner, our cycle support team will be on hand to offer information and advice on how to tackle the following day's ride. (Depending on the timing of your airport transfer, there may even be time for a short, familiarisation ride to get your legs in order and iron out any equipment or maintenance niggles.) You'll have the opportunity to relax with your fellow cyclists and share stories over dinner before heading to bed ready for the first days' riding.
Non-riders are also welcome to join our trips and we can advise and assist with the wealth of other activities available in this beautiful part of France. Have a look at our Not Cycling page for some ideas.
Hearty food
Every morning starts with a filling cooked breakfast accompanied by cereal, porridge, yoghurts, fruit, jams and of course, baguette to fuel you for the Cols ahead.
After a hard day riding, you will be greeted back at the chalet by the smell of a freshly baked cake or filling pasta dish.
Relax and unwind before enjoying a delicious home-cooked two-course dinner. We will offer a variety of traditional French and international dishes followed by a mouth-watering dessert. And it is France, so of course, there is going to be wine!
Complimentary tea and coffee are available at all times.
Who is welcome?
Everyone is welcomed equally at TAGRide.
You do not have to be the greatest cyclist in the world either. We are able to modify many of our routes and itineraries to suit different abilities and private group needs. Even swapping out ride days for day excursions for those who wish more of a holiday!
However, we are in the heart of the Alps. The majority of the best, quietest roads and landscapes inevitably have an incline to them. So a good level of fitness and bike handling ability help make the most of the region. The ups and also the downs. A healthy dose of determination never goes amiss either!
We also have no issue with those electrically assisted!
Although, we provide a guided and supported road cycling experience we are happy to welcome your non-riding friends or partners to join you on your stay.
