Lake Annecy

Join us for a very different ride as we take you on a lap of the magnificent Lake Annecy. Free from traffic and with only gentle changes in gradient, there is plenty of time to take in the stunning scenery. Clear waters, imposing castles, and the hustle and bustle of the 'Venice of the Alps' awaits.

At just over 50km, less than 500m climbing and with the vibrancy that Annecy brings, this is a great ride for those who want to see another side to the Alps.

Situated just 40km from Geneva, the pristine waters reflect the often snow-capped Bauges mountains that flank the lake. The cycle path that fully encompasses the lake undulates gently as we pass by wonderful villas, quaint villages and stunning beaches.

Annecy itself sits at the top of the lake. Dominated by the Château d'Annecy that looks down over the waterways, marina and cobbled streets of the old town. The town is a hive of activity in the summer months and is a fantastic spot for a rest. Dip your toes in the water, take in the view and watch the world go by.

Suitably relaxed we continue on the cycle path, leaving the sunbathers and daytrippers behind as we head towards Talloires and our only hill of the day! A nice challenge for our legs and the perfect launch area for the numerous parapenters who glide overhead.
