The winding road to Courchevel 1850 is a worthy ride in its own right. It also serves nicely as an introduction ride and an equipment test on arrival day.
The old names for the towns act as markers as you pass through Courchevel 1300, 1550, and 1650 on the way to 1850. 600m gained in just 10km, an achievable yet rewarding ride. Once in 1850 take in the sights, that is not just limited to the views here!
If you fancy a little more, carry on, up past the famous Altiport with its 537m long, upward sloping runway. Heading on to the traffic-free, new tarmac of the Col de la Loze. Only another 600m or so of vertical to the top of that!
