TAGRIDE

Not Cycling

We love cycling, and we presume you do too! After all, that's what you came here to do. But you may be wondering what you can do on your rest day. That is if you don’t want to cycle one of the amazing rides we have that are right on our doorstep.

Relax by the pool, explore the mountains, canyoning, Via Ferrata, pony trekking. There is lots to do in the mountains.

A rest day for everyone

The rest day is not only a break for you and your legs but also our hard-working team! It leaves you free to relax or explore the local area under your own steam, whilst we have a well earned day off.

Many of the attractions or activities are within walking distance from La Tania or by taking a short bus ride* or cycle to Courchevel.

Other activities are slightly further afield and it is possible to travel by taxi or hire a car should you wish to explore further.

Fancy more of a holiday on your trip?

Some groups do, and may find 3 or 4 days cycling more than enough for their legs!

If your whole group does not want to ride on one of the 5, dedicated supported ride days, you don’t have to! We would be happy to transport you to one of the many activities or sights in the region instead.

If that sounds like you and your friends, why not swap a riding day for a visit to Annecy or a day rafting with a long lunch? (Transport only included; admission prices, lunch etc. at your own expense).

Non-cyclists

We also welcome non-cyclists who want to accompany their partners or friends on holiday and there are plenty of options available to them. They may wish to consider hiring a car to make the most of this beautiful area (whilst your friends and our team are out cycling).

Activities close to La Tania

In La Tania, the great outdoors are stunning and getting out and exploring the area is probably high on your list of things to do.

So why not adventure into the mountains on foot, with or without the aid of the summer lift network*. There are many great hikes starting from both La Tania and the top of the La Tania Gondola. During the summer months, the lift also gives access to the Bouc Blanc Restaurant. With a huge, sun-drenched terrace and wonderful views, it's a great spot to indulge in a long lunch!

Or enjoy a different type of biking? Hire a mountain bike and explore Courchevel off-road. Discover the options here www.courchevel.com/en/activities/mtbe-mtb

A bird's eye view can be had as you soar over the three valleys with www.atelierduvent.com/prices-rate/ on a tandem paragliding flight. A very different and more relaxing perspective of the mountain Cols!

The three valleys are home to three great Via Ferrata locations, including the highest in France. Check out www.manawa.com/fr-FR/activite/france/meribel-les-trois-vallees/via-ferrata/via-ferrata-de-la-dent-de-burgin-a-meribel/1665 for a guided experience.

Maybe just sitting back and taking in the stunning mountain views is active enough? In La Tania village you can relax by the outdoor swimming pool* or make use of the tennis, volleyball or boules courts.

Or relax a little harder at Aquamotion Courchevel (near Courchevel 1550).  Which boasts several pools, waterslides, indoor surf, spa and climbing wall. www.aquamotion-courchevel.com/en/

If you are a keen golfer, why not head over to Meribel and Courchevel to their excellent 18 and 9 hole courses respectively. The views are guaranteed to be great even if your game isn’t.

And, if you prefer your activities animal-powered, the riding school in Le Praz offers pony hire, lessons and forest treks. www.courchevel.com/en/activite/horse-riding-camp

*The outdoor pool, lift network and bus service operate during the peak summer months. Last year they opened from the 5th July to the 28th August. This year's dates are yet to be announced.

Further afield

There are also a large number of activities to take part in further afield, include rafting, canyoning and paddleboarding at www.franceraft.com/savoie/

Or perhaps a day trip to the beautiful lakeside town of Annecy. Indulge in some retail therapy, take a boat trip on the stunning lake or eat at one of the many lakeside open-air cafes or the town's Michelin-starred restaurants.

Lake Annecy is also perfect for water sports, such as; water skiing, wakeboarding, canoeing, kayaking and paddleboarding. There is plenty for you to do!
