Road Cycling in the French Alps

Based in the Savoie and Haute Savoie region of the French Alps, TAG RIDE offer supported road cycling holidays run by an experienced and friendly team of mountain and road cycling enthusiasts. Our guided and supported trips are perfect for keen cyclists looking for a fun and exhilarating road cycling holiday, regardless of level or experience. Our support vehicles are equipped with all the tools you need to get you back on the road should you need them and we also carry snacks and energy drinks for those times when determination alone is not enough!

The Savoie region is home to many Tour de France stages, past and present, and popular sportives such as L'Etape du Tour, Criterium de Dauphine and La Madeline. Popular locals cols include:

  • Col de L’iseran
  • Alpe D'Huez
  • Col du Galibier
  • Col de Telegraph
  • Col du Glandon
  • Col du Petit St Bernard
  • Lacet de Montevernier
  • Col de la Madeleine

A Warm Welcome

Whether you are a solo cyclist or arriving as part of a larger group, our small and friendly team will help you settle into your chalet accommodation, prep your equipment, and get ready for the week ahead.

Whilst your hosts prepare you a delicious three course dinner, our cycle guide will be on hand to offer information and advice on how to tackle the following days' ride. Depending on the timing of your airport transfer, there may even be time for a short familiarisation ride to get your legs in order and iron out any equipment or maintenance niggles. You'll have the opportunity to get to know your fellow cyclists and share stories over dinner before heading to bed ready for the first days' riding.

Flexible Itineraries

We offer full week holidays, short breaks and holidays focussed around the major alpine cycling events taking place throughout the summer months.

Your itinerary for the week will be tailored to the experience and requirements of the group. Daily rides often have a number of options enabling those looking for a more relaxed, leisurely experience to take a shorter loop and enjoy a local cafe or bar whilst the hardcore members of the group plough on!

Non-riders are also welcome to join our trips and we can advise and assist with the  wealth of other activities available in this beautiful part of France.
